I qualified as a saddler in 1980 and I run small retail workshop specialising in second-hand English saddles, bespoke bridle work and tack repairs of all types including saddle flocking and rug repairs. Clients include local riding schools, livery yards, showing and racing stables, the nearby agricultural college and the Ministry of Defence as well as private and professional riders.
I have a selection of used English saddles ranging from the old but sound for breaking in youngsters, to the more popular names at less than new prices. There is also a small range of old fashioned hunting and showing tack for those who appreciate more traditional equipment.
I enjoy making hunter weight bridles for hunters and cobs (one of my bridles made it to the Horse of the Year Show) but I also make standard bridle-work and head-collars, girths and stirrup leathers as well as “one off” items such as bit-less bridles and side-saddle spares. (N.B. I do not make saddles)
